“The game of shifting mirrors” is a 4 part immersive experience and performance, provoking the awakening of an inner world, where, in the dark, once can see.
Connecting the research “the art of remembering” through techniques learned at Los Teatro de Los Sentidos, Samina wrote the script of this as a profound yet playful mirror work, where individuals’ awareness shifts the moment distraction falls, through a series of guided moments, that take them out of their comfort zone, stripped of their worldly belongings, clothes and masks.
There is mystery, there is nothingness, there are a few surprise twists to trigger further the collective space.
Surrendering to the present, allows each one space to explore, directionless, anonymous, dissolved, yet connected: Tumbling down the rabbit hole and into a blank canvas, and then emerging into a surprising collective wonderland, and ritual of seeing.
Act 1: Entering the rabbit hole:
The Queen of Hearts, the gatekeeper, initiates and prepares each one by one. An intimate exchange takes place that is close to the heart.
Act 2: Simmering into Existence
An extended space of sounds, smells, and poems recited. Unaware of their physical surroundings, this act is a solo experience. Lead by Rossella Cecili
Act 3: The Game of Shifting Mirrors:
Through a ceremonious reveal, the collective ritual begins. A surprise awakening of seeing, and being seen. Lead by Rossella Cecili
Act 4: The Queen of Hearts
Summoning everyone to her court, The Queen of Hearts brings each one back to their intimate exchange with her. Giant playing cards reveal the game, masks are removed.
